Survio has thousands of paying customers across monthly, annual, and multi-year plans — but a small team of ~30 people and no dedicated customer success function. Different customer segments behave very differently: some churn at multiples of others, and a significant portion of active paying customers show zero product engagement — still paying, but not using the product.

Before Customerscore.io, none of this was visible. Churn data lived in Stripe, usage data lived in internal analytics, and the two were never connected. Tom Hynst, CBDO, needed a way to see every customer segment clearly, automate outreach at scale, and catch at-risk customers before they silently disappeared — without adding headcount.

Solution

After connecting Stripe billing data and product usage data via custom API, Customerscore.io matched billing identities with usage behavior and started scoring every customer by churn risk and engagement. Tom found a tool that fundamentally changed how Survio manages its customer base.

Survio is one of Customerscore.io's most advanced users. Tom connected the CustomerScore MCP server to Claude and built AI-powered agents that query live customer data through natural language. The team asks questions like "Who churned last week?" or "Why are customers churning?" directly in Slack and gets instant, data-backed answers — including AI-generated churn explanations and aggregated cancellation reasons.

They built two agents: one for daily health checks and ad-hoc analysis in Slack, and "Mona" — an automated agent that handles lifecycle emails, takes daily snapshots of active customers, identifies new churn, and triggers the right communication automatically.
